Prepare fruit

Rinse blueberries and strawberries under cold water. Hull the strawberries and halve or quarter large ones so they blend easily. Peel and break the banana into chunks.

Measure protein and liquid

Measure one scoop of grass-fed whey protein and one cup of chilled coconut water. If you prefer a thicker smoothie, chill the coconut water or reduce to 3/4 cup.

Add ingredients to blender in this order: coconut water, whey protein powder, banana chunks, strawberries, blueberries. Adding liquid first helps the powder dissolve and prevents clumping.

If using, add ice cubes for a colder, thicker texture and chia seeds for extra fiber and texture. Add honey or maple syrup only if you want additional sweetness.

Secure blender lid and blend on low for 10–15 seconds to start, then increase to high and blend 30–45 seconds or until completely smooth and uniform. Stop and scrape down the sides with a spatula once if needed, then blend an additional 10–15 seconds.

Taste and adjust: if too thick, add 2 tablespoons of coconut water and blend briefly; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes or 2 tablespoons of banana and blend until smooth. If sweetness is needed, blend in the optional honey or maple syrup to taste.

Pour into a 16-ounce glass. Garnish with a sprinkle of shredded coconut and a few whole blueberries or a strawberry half on top if desired.

Serve immediately for best texture and flavor. Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours; shake or stir before drinking (texture may separate).
