Smoothie Base
PB Swirl & Garnish
Method
Prepare Smoothie Base
Prepare banana and liquid
Peel the ripe banana and break it into 2–3 chunks to help the blender. Measure 1 1/4 cups unsweetened almond milk and add to the blender first — adding liquid first helps blades move freely.
Add powders and sweetener
Add 2 tsp raw cacao powder, 1 scoop grass-fed whey protein, and 1 tsp raw honey to the blender. These dry ingredients will dissolve more evenly when blended with the liquid and banana.
Add peanut butter and ice
Add 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter to the blender. If you want a cold, thicker texture, add about 3 ice cubes (or 1/2 cup crushed ice).
Blend until smooth
Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 30–60 seconds until completely smooth and velvety. Stop, scrape down the sides with a spatula, and blend another 10–15 seconds if needed. The final consistency should be pourable but thick.
PB Swirl & Serve
Prepare the peanut butter drizzle
Warm 1 teaspoon of peanut butter for 8–12 seconds in the microwave (or stir in a small bowl) until pourable but not hot. This creates a smooth swirl that won't clump.
Drizzle and swirl: Pour the blended smoothie into a 12–16 oz glass. Using a spoon, drizzle the warmed peanut butter over the top and use the spoon to create a swirl pattern through the surface. If desired, run a toothpick or skewer through the surface to create a marbled effect.
Garnish and finish: Sprinkle 1 tsp raw cacao nibs or chopped roasted peanuts on top for texture. Serve immediately with a straw.
