Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Marinate the Fish

In a bowl, combine lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well. Clean and gut the mojarra fish, then place it in the marinade for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Rice

In a saucepan, combine the white rice and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is fluffy and water is absorbed.

  3. 3

    Make the Guacamole Salad

In a bowl, mash the avocados and add diced tomato, onion, cilantro, and salt to taste. Mix until well combined.

  4. 4

    Fry the Fish

In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the marinated fish. Fry for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the fish is golden brown and cooked through.

  5. 5

    Warm the Tortillas

In a separate pan, warm the corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fried fish with a side of rice, guacamole salad, warm tortillas, and tomatillo sauce.
