1. Prepare the Hibiscus Tea
In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Once boiling, remove from heat and add 1 cup of dried hibiscus flowers. Let it steep for about 15-20 minutes.
2. Strain the Mixture
After steeping, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove the hibiscus flowers. You should have a deep red liquid.
3. Sweeten the Tea
While the tea is still warm, stir in 1 cup of sugar until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.
4. Add Lime Juice
Once the mixture has cooled to room temperature, stir in 1 cup of lime juice.
5. Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the drink until chilled. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
