Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Jalapeños

Rinse the jalapeño peppers under cold water. Pat them dry with a paper towel. If desired, you can slice a slit down the side of each pepper for easier cooking and to allow the flavors to penetrate.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it's hot but not smoking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Jalapeños

Add the jalapeños to the skillet and cook them for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until they are blistered and charred on all sides.

  4. 4

    Add Garlic

During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the minced garlic to the skillet and stir it around until fragrant.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Remove the skillet from heat. Squeeze lime juice over the jalapeños, sprinkle with salt and chopped fresh cilantro. Serve warm as an appetizer or side dish.
