Carne Asada

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lime juice, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Place the rib-eye steak in a resealable bag, pour the marinade over it, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor.

  2. 2

    Cook the Rice and Beans

Cook the rice according to package instructions. Heat the black beans in a saucepan until warm.

  3. 3

    Prepare Pico de Gallo

Dice the tomatoes and onion, and finely chop the cilantro. In a bowl, combine the tomatoes, onion, cilantro, and salt to taste. Let it sit for 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

  4. 4

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for about 6-8 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  5. 5

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve it with rice, black beans, pico de gallo, and warm tortillas.
