Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the Wagyu or Angus shoulder steak from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps it cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and black pepper, ensuring that the seasoning adheres well to the meat.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet or cast-iron pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the steak. Sear it for about 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it.

  4. 4

    Add Aromatics

Flip the steak using tongs and add the crushed garlic and rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time depending on your desired doneness.

  5. 5

    Baste with Butter

During the last few minutes of cooking, add the butter to the pan. Use a spoon to baste the melted butter over the steak repeatedly for added flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the pan and place it on a cutting board. Cover it loosely with foil and let it rest for at least 5 minutes.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite side dishes.
