Sautéed Mushrooms

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

Clean the fresh mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth or paper towel to remove any dirt. Trim the stems if necessary and slice them into thick pieces.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

  4. 4

    Cook the Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Stir well to coat them in the oil and garlic. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and have released their moisture.

  5. 5

    Season the Mushrooms

Once the mushrooms are cooked, sprinkle in the chopped thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  6. 6

    Add Parmesan

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms. Toss gently to combine and allow the cheese to melt slightly.

  7. 7

    Serve with Tomato Jam

Plate the sautéed mushrooms and serve warm with a spoonful of tomato jam on the side or drizzled on top.
