Burger Ingredients

Crispy Pickled Peppers

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties, making a small indentation in the center of each.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns cut-side down on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Crispy Pickled Peppers Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Battering Mixture

In a bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add cold water until a thick batter forms.

  2. 5

    Fry the Peppers

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Dip each pickled jalapeño slice into the batter, allowing excess to drip off, and carefully place in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a cooked patty with melted pepper jack cheese. Drizzle with malt BBQ sauce and top generously with crispy pickled peppers. Finish with the top half of the bun.
