Burger Assembly

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the meat mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip them over.

  3. 5

    Add the Cheese

After flipping the patties, place a slice of American cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger is cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread 1.5 tablespoons of burger sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top, followed by a generous amount of pickles.

  3. 8

    Finish the Burger

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
