Beef Tenderloin
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Beef
Remove the Minnesota Black Angus beef tenderloin from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps the meat cook evenly.
- 2
Preheat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer.
- 3
Season the Beef
While the pan is heating, pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper on all sides.
- 4
Sear the Beef
Once the oil is hot, place the beef tenderloin in the skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until a nice brown crust forms.
- 5
- 6
Check Doneness
Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature of the beef. For medium-rare, aim for 130°F (54°C).
- 7
Rest the Meat
Once the desired doneness is reached, remove the beef tenderloin from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- 8
Slice and Serve
After resting, slice the beef tenderloin against the grain into medallions and serve with your choice of sides.
