A5 Striploin Ingredients

Method

A5 Striploin Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the 3 oz Japanese Wagyu Striploin out of the refrigerator and let it rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This allows for even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously season both sides of the steak with sea salt and black pepper. Ensure an even coating for the best flavor.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a heavy skillet, preferably cast iron, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat until it starts to shimmer but not smoke.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Carefully place the seasoned Wagyu Striploin in the hot skillet. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred doneness. For medium-rare, target an internal temperature of 130°F (54°C).

  5. 5

    Add Aromatics

In the last minute of cooking, add a sprig of fresh thyme to the pan to infuse the steak with additional flavor.

  6. 6

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  7. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the steak against the grain and serve immediately. Enjoy your luxurious A5 Striploin!
