To the bowl with the potato flesh, add the unsalted butter, sour cream, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions. Mash the mixture until smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well combined.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.
