Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all ingredients including Same Old Moses Rye, cane sugar, Angostura bitters, and orange bitters. Measure out the required quantities.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Wood Chips

Soak the wood chips in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning too quickly when smoking the drink.

Mixing the Drink

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a mixing glass, add the cane sugar, Angostura bitters, and a splash of water to help dissolve the sugar. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 4

    Add the Rye

Pour in 2 oz of Same Old Moses Rye Whiskey and stir the mixture gently to combine all the flavors.

  3. 5

    Strain the Mixture

Use a strainer to pour the mixture into a chilled rocks glass filled with ice.

Smoking the Drink

  1. 6

    Prepare the Smoke

Using a smoking gun, fill it with soaked wood chips and ignite them to create smoke.

  2. 7

    Smoke the Drink

Cover the glass with a lid or a piece of parchment paper and introduce the smoke into the glass. Let it infuse for about 1-2 minutes.

  3. 8

    Add the Orange Bitters

After smoking, add a dash of orange bitters to the drink to add a citrusy aroma and flavor.

  4. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Optionally garnish with an orange twist or peel. Serve immediately and enjoy!
