Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Boil Water

Fill a large pot with water and add 1 tablespoon of salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook Tagliatelle

Once the water is boiling, add the tagliatelle and cook according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the tagliatelle and set aside.

Alfredo Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Melt Butter

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Add Cream and Garlic

Stir in the heavy cream and minced garlic. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  3. 6

    Incorporate Cheese and Season

Add the grated Parmesan cheese, black pepper, and nutmeg. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time to reach desired consistency.

  4. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked tagliatelle to the Alfredo sauce and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 8

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 9

    Sauté Onion and Garlic

Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

  3. 10

    Add Tomatoes and Herbs

Pour in the crushed tomatoes, then add the dried basil, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 11

    Simmer Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 12

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked tagliatelle to the marinara sauce and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.
