Mushroom Preparation

Method

Mushroom Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mushrooms

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Clean the Portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems. Lightly brush the caps with olive oil and sprinkle them with salt and black pepper.

Stuffing Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Spinach and Onion

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Add the fresh spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  2. 3

    Mix Stuffing Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed spinach mixture, cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, and the beaten egg. Stir until well combined.

Stuffing the Mushrooms

  1. 4

    Stuff the Mushrooms

Spoon the prepared stuffing into each mushroom cap, pressing down gently to pack it in evenly.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Stuffed Mushrooms

Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.

  2. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your delicious spinach and cheese stuffed mushrooms!
