Preparation of Ingredients
- 1
Slice the Meats
Using a sharp knife, thinly slice the salami, ham, and prosciutto into manageable pieces.
- 2
Prepare the Vegetables
Dice the tomato into small cubes, shred the lettuce if not pre-shredded, finely slice the red onion, and slice the pepperoncini in half if desired.
- 3
Slice the Cheese
Cut the provolone cheese into slices or cubes, depending on your preference.
Assembling the Sub
- 4
Prepare the Bread
If using hoagie rolls, slice them open lengthwise without cutting all the way through. If using a wrap, lay it flat on a clean surface.
- 5
Layer the Ingredients
Start by layering the meats (salami, ham, and prosciutto) evenly on the bottom of the hoagie roll or wrap.
- 6
Add Vegetables
Next, add the diced tomato, shredded lettuce, sliced red onion, and halved pepperoncini on top of the meats.
- 7
Add Cheese
Place the slices of provolone cheese over the vegetables.
- 8
Drizzle the Dressing
In a small bowl, mix the extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar together. Drizzle this mixture over the assembled sub.
- 9
Close the Sub
If using a hoagie roll, press the top down gently. If using a wrap, fold the sides in and then roll tightly from the bottom up.
Serving
- 10
Slice and Serve
Slice the sub in half for easier handling and serve immediately with chips or a side salad.
