Prepare the Sausage
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Remove the casing from the Italian sausage and crumble it into the skillet.

Cook the Sausage
Cook the sausage for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through.

Prepare the Gnocchi
While the sausage is cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potato gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float to the surface. Drain and set aside.

Prepare the Spinach
Once the sausage is cooked, add the minced garlic and fresh spinach to the skillet. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the spinach wilts.
Making the Cream Sauce

Add Cream and Seasonings
Pour in the heavy cream and add salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to the skillet. Stir well to combine and let the sauce simmer for about 5 minutes.

Combine with Gnocchi
Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and gently toss to coat in the cream sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.

Finish with Basil and Cheese
Stir in the chopped fresh basil and half of the grated Grana Padano cheese. Mix until well incorporated.

Serve the Italian sausage and gnocchi in bowls or on plates, topped with the remaining Grana Padano cheese.
