Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Infuse the Botanicals

In a large container, combine the juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, cardamom pods, and dried orange peel. Pour in 4 liters of water, ensuring all botanicals are fully submerged.

  2. 2

    Soak the Mixture

Allow the mixture to soak for 24 hours at room temperature to fully extract the flavors from the botanicals.

  3. 3

    Strain the Mixture

After 24 hours, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the solid botanicals.

  4. 4

    Combine with Spirit

Add 1 liter of neutral grain spirit to the strained mixture. Stir gently to combine.

Flavoring

  1. 5

    Add Flavoring Ingredients

To enhance the gin, add 1 tablespoon of lemon zest, 1 cup of cucumber slices, and 1 cup of fresh mint leaves to the mixture. Stir well.

  2. 6

    Let it Rest

Seal the container and let the gin rest for an additional 48 hours to infuse the flavors from the added ingredients.

Bottling

  1. 7

    Filter the Gin

After resting, filter the gin again to remove any sediment or leftover solid particles.

  2. 8

    Bottle the Gin

Pour the filtered gin into clean, sterilized bottles, seal tightly, and label.
