Boil Water
In a large pot, bring water to a rolling boil. Add a generous pinch of salt.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 10-12 minutes, until al dente.
- 3

Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander, reserving about 1 cup of the pasta water for later use.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 4
Melt Butter
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- 5
- 6
Stir in Cream
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring continuously. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer.

Add Cheese and Seasonings
Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg.
Combining Pasta and Sauce

Combine
Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
- 9
