Method

Preparing the Bread

  1. 1

    Slice the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the French baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Brush with Olive Oil

Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush both sides with extra virgin olive oil.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bread

Bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the slices are golden and crispy.

Preparing the Topping

  1. 4

    Chop the Tomatoes

While the bread is toasting, chop the Roma tomatoes into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

  2. 5

    Add Basil and Garlic

Tear the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well.

  3. 6

    Season the Mixture

Add salt and black pepper to the tomato mixture and drizzle with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Mix well to combine.

Assembling the Bruschetta

  1. 7

    Top the Toasts

Once the bread is toasted, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each slice.

  2. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta immediately while the bread is still warm. Enjoy!
