Water & Brewing

Method

Tea Blend

  1. 1

    Measure the leaves

Measure 4 tsp jasmine green tea (this is ~2 tsp per 300 ml cup). If using loose pearls, gently break apart any large clusters so they steep evenly. Add 1 tsp dried orange peel to the leaves if using for a citrus accent.

  2. 2

    Prepare your infuser/teapot

Place the measured tea and orange peel into your teapot, gaiwan, or infuser. Ensure the infuser has enough room for the leaves to expand for full flavor release.

Water & Brewing

  1. 3

    Heat the water

Heat 600 ml filtered water to about 80°C. If you don't have a thermometer, bring water to a simmer and let it sit 1–2 minutes to cool slightly. Avoid boiling water — too-hot water will scorch delicate jasmine leaves and create bitterness.

  2. 4

    Preheat vessels

Pour a small amount of the hot water into the teapot and cups, swirl, then discard. This preheats the vessel and stabilizes steep temperature.

  3. 5

    Steep

Pour 600 ml (about 2 cups) of the 80°C water evenly over the tea leaves. Cover and steep for 2–3 minutes for a light, floral cup. For a slightly stronger infusion, steep up to 3.5 minutes but taste at 2.5 minutes to avoid oversteeping.

  4. 6

    Strain

After steeping, strain the tea into the preheated cups using a fine mesh strainer or remove the infuser. Pour steadily to capture the full aroma and color, stopping before leaves sit in the hot liquid.

Finish & Serve

  1. 7

    Sweeten and garnish

If desired, stir 1 tbsp honey (or floral syrup) into the brewed tea while still warm so it dissolves fully. Add a lemon wedge to each cup for a bright citrus lift, or squeeze a small amount into the cup to taste. Sprinkle a pinch (about 1 tsp) of dried rose petals on top or on the teacup rim for a 'sunset' floral finish.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while warm. Encourage drinking within 10–15 minutes to enjoy the peak floral aromatics.

  3. 9

    Re-steep guidance

Reserve the used leaves for 1–2 additional infusions. For the second steep, use water at the same temperature but increase steep time by ~30–60 seconds (3–4 minutes). Subsequent steeps may be longer but will be milder.
