Crispy Texas Oyster Slider Ingredients
Method
Crispy Texas Oyster Slider Directions
- 1
Prepare the Oysters
Shuck the oysters and place them on a plate. Make sure to remove any shell fragments.
- 2
Set up the Breading Station
In one bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, cornmeal, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the buttermilk.
- 3
Bread the Oysters
Dip each oyster first in the flour mixture, then into the egg mixture, and back into the flour mixture to ensure they are well coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Oysters
Carefully place the breaded oysters into the hot oil, frying them for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Prepare the Sliders
Slice the slider buns in half. On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of romaine lettuce, a slice of tomato, a fried oyster, and a drizzle of horseradish sauce.
- 7
Add Shoestring Potatoes
Top the fried oyster with a handful of shoestring potatoes for extra crunch before placing the top half of the bun over it.
- 8
Serve
Serve the crispy Texas oyster sliders immediately while hot, with extra horseradish sauce on the side if desired.
