Prepare Coffee Mixture
Brew strong coffee and let it cool. If using, mix coffee liqueur into the coffee.

Whip Cream
In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Set aside.

Fold in Whipped Cream
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.

Soak Ladyfingers
Dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture for about 2 seconds, making sure not to soak them too long.

Layer the Dessert
In a serving dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder.
