Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.

Mix the Coating
In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.

Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Heat the Oil
In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Calamari
Carefully add the coated calamari rings to the hot oil in batches, frying for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Avoid overcrowding the pan.

Drain and Serve
Remove the fried calamari from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with marinara sauce.
