Grilled Apples

Method

Preparation and Grilling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Apples

Preheat your grill to medium heat. Core the Hendersonville apples and slice them into thick wedges. In a bowl, toss the apple wedges with olive oil, cinnamon, and salt.

  2. 2

    Grill the Apples

Place the apple wedges on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are tender and have nice grill marks.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, combine the whipped gruyere, smoked gouda, and Ashe County cheddar. Mix until well blended.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Dish

Once the apples are grilled, remove them from the grill and place them on a serving platter. Top each apple wedge with a generous spoonful of the cheese mixture, followed by the chopped black pepper pecans.

  5. 5

    Drizzle and Serve

Finish the dish by drizzling Smoking J’s hot maple drizzle over the assembled apples. Serve warm.
