Meatballs

Spicy Sauce

Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix everything thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and browned on the outside.

Spicy Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Prepare the Sauce

Add the crushed tomatoes, red chili flakes, cumin powder, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

  3. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir in the chopped fresh basil just before serving.

Serve

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven and add them to the spicy sauce, gently stirring to coat. Serve the meatballs warm, garnished with additional parsley or basil if desired.
