Method

Turkey Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat and Prepare

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Prepare a roasting pan by placing a rack inside it.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

Rub the whole turkey with olive oil, ensuring it is evenly coated. Season generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme.

  3. 3

    Roast the Turkey

Place the turkey on the rack in the roasting pan. Roast in the preheated oven for about 13-15 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Baste the turkey with its juices every hour.

  4. 4

    Rest the Turkey

Once cooked, remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before pulling the meat apart.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrots.

  2. 6

    Prepare Dressing

In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.

  3. 7

    Combine Slaw

Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrots. Toss until the vegetables are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving to let flavors meld.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 8

    Prepare Rolls

Slice the sandwich rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on the inside of each half.

  2. 9

    Assemble Sandwiches

Layer each bottom half of the roll with pulled turkey, followed by a slice of provolone cheese, a generous amount of coleslaw, and a drizzle of Russian dressing before topping with the other half of the roll.

  3. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately while the turkey is warm, or wrap in foil to keep warm until ready to serve.
