Meatballs

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatballs

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form the Meatballs

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until they are browned and cooked through. Remove from the oven and set aside.

  4. 4

    Make the Marinara Sauce

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

  5. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasoning

Add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. 6

    Combine Meatballs and Sauce

Add the cooked meatballs to the marinara sauce and gently stir to coat them. Allow them to simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.

  7. 7

    Prepare for Serving

Remove from heat and prepare the meatball bar with sliced provolone, grated Romano cheese, and baked rolls.
