Sandwich Ingredients

Au Jus Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Au Jus

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Heat the Mixture

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the au jus and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Keep it warm on low heat while you prepare the sandwiches.

Preparing the Sandwich

  1. 4

    Cook the Wagyu Beef

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the American Wagyu beef with black pepper. Cook the beef for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  2. 5

    Rest the Beef

Once cooked, remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  3. 6

    Slice the Beef

Using a sharp knife, slice the beef thinly against the grain.

  4. 7

    Prepare the Rolls

While the beef is resting, cut the hoagie rolls in half lengthwise and spread mayonnaise on the inside of each roll.

  5. 8

    Assemble the Sandwich

Layer the sliced Wagyu beef into each hoagie roll and top with Swiss cheese slices.

  6. 9

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled sandwiches under a broiler for 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. 10

    Serve

Serve the sandwiches hot with a side of warm au jus for dipping.
