Method
Prepare Sake & Aromatics
Warm the vessel
Choose a small saucepan or a traditional tokkuri (sake carafe). Pour 1 cup sake into the vessel. If you prefer a milder drink, add up to 1/4 cup water now and stir gently to combine.
Heat & Infuse
Allow the ginger and citrus peel to infuse in the warm sake for 1–2 minutes off the heat for a more pronounced flavor, or serve immediately for a lighter aromatics profile.
Serve
Garnish with a few thinly sliced scallions and a light sprinkle (about 1/2 teaspoon) of toasted sesame seeds, if using. Serve immediately while hot.
