Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the brewed espresso coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Let it cool completely.

Make the Mascarpone Mixture
In a large bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them. Layer them at the bottom of a rectangular dish.

Layer the Mascarpone Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of dipped ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers and then top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy your delicious tiramisu!
