Pizza Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) to ensure a crispy crust.
- 2
Prepare the Pizza Base
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and shape. Place the rolled dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- 3
Add Sauce and Toppings
Drizzle a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the pizza base. Layer the sliced tomatoes evenly over the dough. Arrange the spicy soppressata slices and provolone cheese on top of the tomatoes. Add a sprinkle of salt and black pepper to taste.
- 4
Bake the Pizza
Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- 5
Garnish and Serve
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Scatter fresh basil leaves on top and drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil. Slice and serve hot.
