Meatballs Preparation

Mix the Meatball Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chopped basil. Mix until well combined.

Form the Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.

Bake the Meatballs
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
Marinara Sauce Preparation

Sauté the Onions and Garlic
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 15 minutes.

Finish the Marinara Sauce
Add chopped basil to the sauce just before serving.

Combine and Serve
Add the baked meatballs to the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes. Serve hot, garnished with additional grated Parmesan cheese and torn basil.
