Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine lime juice, olive oil, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well-coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Grill the Steak

Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 5

    Prepare the Tacos

While the steak is resting, warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 6

    Slice the Steak

Thinly slice the rested steak against the grain.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

On each corn tortilla, place some sliced steak, followed by chopped onions and cilantro. Add sour cream if desired.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
