Equipment & Serving
Method
Prepare Glass & Sauces
If using a hot fudge chocolate glaze: gently warm 2 tablespoons in a small microwave-safe bowl for 10–15 seconds, or heat in a small saucepan over low heat for 20–30 seconds, stirring until pourable. Do not overheat. If using store-bought cold chocolate or caramel sauce, measure 2 tablespoons and set aside.
Scoop Ice Cream
Scoop two generous scoops of the chosen flavor into the chilled sundae glass. The menu description offers either chocolate or vanilla. For a double-scoop sundae, place one scoop in the center, then a second scoop gently next to or on top of the first so the presentation is tidy.
If making a mixed-flavor sundae (one chocolate + one vanilla), alternate so each flavor is visible. Use a warmed scoop (dip in hot water and wipe dry) for cleaner scoops if the ice cream is very firm.
Glaze & Toppings
Drizzle 2 tablespoons of your chosen glaze (chocolate or caramel) evenly over the two scoops, allowing some sauce to run down the sides for a classic sundae look.
Pipe or spoon about 3 tablespoons of whipped cream on top of the scoops, forming a small peak in the center.
Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of chocolate shavings or sprinkles over the whipped cream, if using.
Scatter 1 tablespoon of chopped nuts around the whipped cream if desired, taking care not to overwhelm the presentation.
Place one maraschino cherry on the top center of the whipped cream as a finishing touch (optional).
Serve
Serve immediately with a long-handled spoon. Provide an extra napkin for any drips. If preparing multiple sundaes, assemble right before serving to maintain texture and temperature.
