Method

Preparation

1

Chill serving ware

Place dessert bowls or sundae glasses in the freezer for 10–15 minutes prior to serving to keep the ice cream from melting too quickly.

2

Soften ice cream slightly

Remove selected ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) from the freezer 3–5 minutes before scooping so it is firm but scoopable. If using a very hard container, let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes.

Assemble scoops

3

Using a chilled or room-temperature ice cream scoop, place two generous scoops of the chosen premium ice cream into the chilled bowl or glass. Position the scoops so they sit neatly side-by-side or slightly overlapped.

Optional toppings

4

If desired, finish the sundae with toppings. Drizzle 2 tbs hot fudge or caramel sauce over the scoops. Add 2 tbs whipped cream on top, sprinkle 1 tsp sprinkles and 1 tbs chopped nuts around, and place 1 maraschino cherry on the whipped cream. Adjust amounts to taste.

Serve

5

Serve immediately with a spoon. Keep remaining ice cream in the freezer. If serving multiple orders, scoop quickly and return ice cream to the freezer between servings to maintain texture.
