Method

Prepare Glass

1

Salt the rim

Run the lime wedge around the outer rim of a chilled coupe, margarita, or rocks glass. Spread the coarse salt on a small plate and press the rim into the salt, rotating to coat evenly. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

2

Fill a cocktail shaker about two-thirds full with ice cubes.

3

Add 1.5 oz silver tequila, 0.5 oz triple sec, and 0.75 oz freshly squeezed lime juice to the shaker. If you prefer a slightly sweeter Margarita, add 0.25 oz simple syrup (optional).

4

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

5

If serving 'on the rocks': Fill the prepared glass with 3 ice cubes and double-strain the cocktail from the shaker into the glass over the ice. If serving 'up' (no ice): double-strain into the prepared chilled glass without adding ice.

Finish & Serve

6

Garnish the drink with the reserved lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately.
