Cocktail Base

Method

Prepare & Mix

1

Chill glass

If desired, place a Collins or highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice and set aside to chill while you prepare the cocktail.

2

Build in shaker

Add 1 cup of ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in gin (0.5 oz), white rum (0.5 oz), vodka (0.5 oz), tequila (0.5 oz), triple sec (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.5 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 oz).

3

Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled. This dilutes and chills the spirit mixture evenly.

Assemble & Serve

4

Discard the ice from the chilled Collins/highball glass if you used it to chill. Fill the glass with fresh ice (about 4–6 large cubes). Strain the shaken spirit and sour mix over the fresh ice.

5

Top gently with 3 oz of Pepsi (or cola) — pour slowly down the side of the glass to preserve carbonation and create a light cola float.

6

Give the drink a very gentle stir (1–2 rotations) with a bar spoon to integrate the cola without over-diluting or flattening it.

7

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve with a straw if desired.
