Wonton Wrappers

For Frying

Method

Wonton Wrappers Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water while mixing until a dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Roll out the Dough

After resting, divide the dough into four pieces. Roll each piece into a thin sheet and cut into 3-inch squares.

Filling Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix the ground pork, chopped shrimp, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Assemble and Fry

  1. 5

    Fill the Wontons

Take a square wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water and fold the wrapper over to form a triangle. Press to seal.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

  3. 7

    Fry the Wontons

Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil in batches, frying them until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Serve

Serve the crispy pork and shrimp wontons hot with dipping sauce of your choice.
