Tiramisu Directions
- 1
Prepare the Espresso
Brew 200 ml of espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. If desired, mix in 50 ml of coffee liqueur for added flavor.
- 2
Whip the Cream
In a large mixing bowl, whip 200 ml of heavy cream until soft peaks form. This should take about 2-3 minutes using an electric mixer on medium speed.
- 3
Mix Mascarpone and Sugar
In another bowl, combine 500 grams of mascarpone cheese with 100 grams of granulated sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- 4
Combine Mixtures
Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture using a spatula. Be careful not to deflate the whipped cream.
- 5
Prepare the Ladyfingers
Briefly dip 24 ladyfingers into the cooled espresso mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not overly soggy. Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a rectangular dish.
- 6
Layer the Mixture
Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers. Use a spatula to smooth it out evenly.
- 7
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone layer, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- 8
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- 9
Serve
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 30 grams of cocoa powder. Cut into squares and enjoy your delicious homemade tiramisu!
