Pie Filling
Method
Assembling and Baking
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
Roll Out Dough
On a floured surface, roll out one of the chilled dough disks into a circle about 12 inches in diameter. Transfer it to a 9-inch pie pan.
Fill with Apples
Spoon the apple filling into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
Cover with Second Crust
Roll out the second dough disk and place it over the apple filling. Trim and crimp the edges to seal the pie.
Cut Vents
Cut several small slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake Pie
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 35-45 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the crust is golden brown.
Cool and Serve
Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing. Serve with ice cream if desired.
