Burger Patty

Toppings

Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Ensure it is well-oiled to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties.

  3. 5

    Add BBQ Sauce and Cheese

After flipping, brush the top of each patty with BBQ sauce and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired level of doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast Buns

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Add Patties and Toppings

Once the cheese is melted, remove the patties from the heat. Place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted burger bun. Top with onion rings, additional BBQ sauce if desired, and cover with the top half of the bun.
