Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and any additional spices you prefer. Form into two equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the applewood-smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  3. 3

    Cook the Burgers

In the same skillet, add the burger patties. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, flip, and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the burgers are cooking, split the burger buns and toast them in the skillet or on a grill until golden brown.

Whiskey BBQ Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, whiskey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

  2. 6

    Simmer the Sauce

Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place the burger patty with melted cheddar. Top with crispy bacon, a generous spoonful of whiskey BBQ sauce, and a handful of B&B pickles. Cap with the top half of the bun.
