Method
Preparation of Panna Cotta
- 1
Prepare the Gelatin
In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin powder over the cold water. Allow it to sit for about 5-10 minutes until the gelatin softens.
- 2
Heat the Cream Mixture
In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar over medium heat. Stir gently until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is hot but not boiling.
- 3
Add Vanilla and Gelatin
Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and the softened gelatin. Mix well until the gelatin is fully dissolved.
- 4
Pour into Molds
Pour the mixture into individual serving cups or molds. Allow them to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- 5
Chill the Panna Cotta
Cover the cups or molds with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.
