Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Linguini

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Seafood

In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, and clams. Rinse under cold water and set aside.

Cooking the Sauce

  1. 3

    Sauté the Aromatics

In a large pot or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.

  2. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Wine

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and white wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer, allowing it to cook for about 10 minutes to reduce slightly.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Seafood

Add the prepared seafood mixture to the pot. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels and clams have opened and the shrimp and scallops are cooked through.

  4. 6

    Season the Sauce

Stir in the chopped basil, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Combine and Serve

Serve the seafood mixture over the cooked linguini. Garnish with additional fresh basil if desired and enjoy your Zuppa Di Pesce!
