Prepare the Cream Mixture

Beat the Egg Yolks
In a mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Whisk the yolks with granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture until well combined.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and homogenous.
Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew the Coffee
Brew your espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly. If using, add coffee liqueur to the coffee.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular or square dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat Layers
Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and cream mixture.

Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

Serve
Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
