Method

Prepare the Cream Mixture

  1. 1

    Beat the Egg Yolks

In a mixing bowl, separate the egg yolks from the whites. Whisk the yolks with granulated sugar until pale and creamy.

  2. 2

    Add Mascarpone

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese to the egg yolk mixture until well combined.

  3. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until smooth and homogenous.

Prepare the Coffee Mixture

  1. 5

    Brew the Coffee

Brew your espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly. If using, add coffee liqueur to the coffee.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Dip the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular or square dish, layer half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and cream mixture.

  4. 9

    Chill

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  5. 10

    Serve

Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder. Slice and enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
