Cooking Pasta
- 1
Boil Water and Cook Spaghetti
Fill a large pot with water, add a generous amount of salt, and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
Preparing Sauce
- 2
Sauté Garlic
While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (slice the cloves thinly) and sauté until fragrant and golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- 3
Add Chili Flakes
Once the garlic is golden, add the red chili flakes to the skillet and stir for about 30 seconds to release their flavor.
- 4
Combine with Pasta
Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve about a cup of pasta water, then drain the spaghetti. Immediately add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the garlic and chili oil, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If the mixture seems dry, add some reserved pasta water a little at a time.
