Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Chicken

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine the chicken with soy sauce and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and chop the broccoli, slice the carrots, and bell pepper. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a separate bowl, whisk together brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, cornstarch, and water until smooth. Set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Coat the Chicken

After marinating, remove the chicken from the soy sauce and toss it in cornstarch until evenly coated.

  2. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

  3. 6

    Cook the Chicken

Add the coated chicken to the hot oil and stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.

  4. 7

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In the same pan, add the minced garlic, ginger, broccoli, carrots, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until just tender.

  5. 8

    Combine Chicken and Sauce

Return the chicken to the pan with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the top and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

  6. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, garnish with sliced green onions, and serve hot over rice or noodles.
