Method
Preparation
Prepare the Coffee
Brew 1 cup of espresso and allow it to cool. If desired, add 2 tablespoons of coffee liqueur to the espresso for added flavor.
Mix the Mascarpone Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of mascarpone cheese with 1 cup of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix gently until smooth.
Whip the Heavy Cream
In another bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu
Dip the Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled espresso, ensuring they are moistened but not soaked.
Layer the Ingredients
In a rectangular dish, place a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the ladyfingers.
Repeat the Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone layer, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for the best flavor.
Finishing Touch
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
Serve and Enjoy
Slice the tiramisu into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your classic Italian dessert!
